1st Annual Yurt Trip

Aly.. Sorry these Yurt trip pictures have taken so long.. Here we are getting geared up for the trek to our first Yurt in the Uintas. The snow was coming down hard but we were prepared and it was so beautiful and peaceful.

Of course the snow wasn't so good for Pancho's long hairs. He would form these big snow balls on his undercarriage...he he.

And eventually would end up in someone's coat to stay warm.
The first yurt that we stayed at was called Bear Claw. It was super cozy thanks to the wood burning stove.
Our many nalgenes that kept us nice and hydrated.. We would melt snow and then filter the snow into our bottles..

Our yurt..like in Mongolia..sort of..

Sadie and Pancho did pretty good together.. they had their little spot in the yurt. This is us all together on our last day. We tried tying Pancho to one of the sleds but it didn't last. Alas he had big snow balls stuck to him when we got back to the car. Later my friend said that spraying some Pam to his hairs would help to keep the snow from sticking.. next year..

This is Annie and me at the top of Donut Falls..we are standing on top of where the water falls in

Later after going to dinner we gathered for some yummy chocolate Birthday cake that Mom made.. it was fantastic...so good.

Fridays with Grandma & Grandpa Buchanan

Mom had just finished Grandma's hair and we gathered in the little study for some Oprah and a photo op...
Oh how I love them!
Grandpa and I sat for awhile together and talked about Scotland. He is doing pretty good for a spry 91 year old! He told me I needed to marry a Scot..funny.
Just a lovely Friday afternoon gathered around the table...
We love you and miss you Aly-boo!

Superbowl Sunday

Ahhh.. the super bowl. We had a good time together. We had lots of good snacks and some great beer (Henry Weinhard's root beer of course). Here Dad is intently focusing on the game. Of course we always say that we just watch for the commercials but the game was actually quite entertaining..and it was exciting especially at the end. The underdog team won, the New York Giants over the Boston Patriots who had a perfect record.

Lib and Brad helped make the main course. We had super bowl chili with moose meat. It was so GOOD!
Eating good snacks with Miles..
Miles loved the chips and salsa..yea something he isn't allergic to!

Miles..always entertaining us..you just want to eat him up!
